In 2021 he completed his Master’s degree in music composition at the University of Victoria, studying under Anna Höstman. His music has been performed in Canada and Europe. In 2021, he received the Barbara Pentland Prize from the CMC and has taken part as a resident composer in contemporary music festivals such as the 2023 Ostrava Days Music Festival in Ostrava, Czechia. Luke’s music is sensitive to time and colour. Often in the form of mixed instrumentation, his chamber works feature thin musical textures that float and invite the listener to follow subtle transformations of sound within a highly gestural musical environment.
